CLIENT FAQ

What services can I receive?

TGNS offers a wide range of services to make your life a little easier. Please visit our Get Help page to find out what we can do for you.

How much does it cost?

Most of the services are free of charge, however, clients are welcome to make a donation should they wish.

Transport assistance from TGNS is free, however, if you would like to make a donation, we recommend a rate of 45p/mile.

Whilst a donation is welcomed, it is not essential in order to receive our help. Please do not feel under obligation to donate if you cannot afford to.

How far in advance do I need to make a request?

The more notice you give us the more chance we will have of matching you with a volunteer. If you know you will be requiring regular assistance from us, please provide us with dates and times as soon as possible.

In the rare occasion where we do not have any free volunteers, we will do our best to connect you with an alternative service that can provide you with what you need.

I need a service that you do not offer, what do I do?

TGNS aims to help in as many ways as possible. Please get in touch to discuss your requirements and we may be able to find a volunteer to help you. Furthermore, if you have any suggestions for services you would like to see us offer please let us know!

If TGNS is unable to help you, we have a wide directory of alternative service providers that we can connect you to.

How do I know your volunteers are safe?

To ensure the safety of our clients we undertake Disclosure & Barring Service checks on all of our volunteers. Each volunteer carries a TGNS identification badge and will present it to you on arriving at your home. You are not obliged to grant entry into your home to any of our volunteers if you feel unsure. Should you feel uncomfortable or unsafe at any point you can call the TGNS helpline and complete an incident report form and send it to us.

Do you provide personal care?

No. Food preparation, other than heating ready meals, and personal care are not services TGNS offers. These are services provided by specialist agencies that we can connect you to.

I use mobility aids - can I still get help with transport?

Please let us know if you have any mobility aids that you use and we will do our best to find a volunteer and vehicle that can accommodate you. Should this not be possible, we can redirect you to a service with specialised vehicles that will be able to take you to where you want to go.
